Chelsea closing in on Antonio

Looks like he might be on the move. I'd be gutted if we lose him.Put a 40 million price tag on him. Still we might get Snodgrass so happy days I don't think.

They could probably train him to perform for 90 minutes.
In all seriousness, they'd probably buy him and loan him back for the rest of this season, which should suit all parties.

Can't see us selling the only player getting us goals

For Batshuayi and Fabregas, then go out and get Snodgrass, Johnson, Iorfa and Hogan.
Job done.

Difficult for a club like ours, which show limited ambition, to keep good players from thinking they're too good to be playing for such a club.
Especially when that lack of ambition is shown exactly when the opposite would be expected - i.e., straight after a massive increase in capacity.
I just hope Antonio is very, very grateful to us for transforming his career.

Its what the club are working on according to sources 'ex whu employee'
You may notice he doesn't post much now due to the club going silent on transfer activity.
But him and jack are always in dialogue.

Great move for Antonio if he wants to go, and it comes off. Although he'll very much be a small fish in a big pond.

What's happened to make this seem more likely, and not just silly season speculation?

As Steve P mentioned - Fabregas is also an opportunity, should we sign other striker targets.

Victor Moses, who has shown how little he wants to play for us and how much he wants to play for Chelsea?
That Victor Moses?

I don't think he is that good, despite his record, so he can go if they offer silly money.

My thoughts exactly, but could be why we're after Snodgrass.
Id love to have Fabregas in with Batshuayi on loan.

Every player has their price- anything upward of 30 million would represent good business provided it's reinvested properly. We want to do our best to get 'spurs or southampton' money for him.
However, this would be like ripping the heart out of what's left of this season. Antonio gets a louder cheer then Payet from the stands now, so do we really want to sell one of our best and most popular players?
Of course if Antonio wants to go, then it might be hard to prevent it.
